Caring for your spoon:

Looking after your spoon is easy and, with a little care, it will look and feel great through a lifetime of use and display.

- If to be used the spoon should be coated in a food safe oil first (Tung Oil or Olive Oil are suitable. Do not use vegetable oils)

- If used, hand wash only in warm water and towel or air dry. Not suitable for dishwashers.

- Avoid leaving the spoon in boiling water for extended periods as this will encourage the grain to the surface and affect the smooth finish.

- Depending on the frequency of use, oiling the spoon every few weeks will help to retain the smooth finish and the look of the spoon. Simply rub mineral or olive oil all over with a soft cloth. Eventually the moisture levels in the wood will stabilise and so regular oiling won't be necessary.

- Avoid extended exposure to heat sources such as radiators, fires, direct sunlight or air conditioning units as this will rapidly remove moisture from the wood and may cause it to crack or split.
