The Mahogany for this piece was donated to Giles by a retired woodcarver and is from the same piece of wood as the Climbing Fox Spoon.

After carving the piece has been coated in Tung oil, a natural, deep penetrating oil.

Because this is a hand carved and finished product made from untreated, un-machined wood, the pendant will not be as smooth or perfectly finished as commercially manufactured wooden items. Knife and axe marks from the carving process will still be visible. As the pendant ages and is worn, it's colour will slowly mellow and change; this is perfectly natural.
