A unique artwork by Giles Newman, the Climbing Fox spoon’s design was inspired by the colour of the individual piece of wood from which it is carved. Carved entirely by hand from a piece of reclaimed Mohogany wood (originally part of a window in an ancient English cottage) using only an axe and two knives, this piece reflects Giles’ love of Foxes and the wildlife of the British countryside.

Declared by Time Inc., on their website FoodandWine.com, as “The World’s Most Beautiful Spoons”, Giles creates just a handful of pieces each year. Characterised by their intricate details, naturalistic flow and depth, Giles’ spoon carvings have become highly sought after with collectors and art lovers around the world.

After carving the spoon has been coated in Tung oil, a natural, food-safe, deep penetrating nut oil.

**Please note that, as Tung oil is extracted from nuts, this spoon is not suitable for nut allergy sufferers.

Caring for your spoon:

Looking after your spoon is easy and, with a little care, it will look and feel great through a lifetime of use and display.

- If used, hand wash only in warm water and towel or air dry. Not suitable for dishwashers.

- Avoid leaving the spoon in boiling water for extended periods as this will encourage the grain to the surface and affect the smooth finish.

- Depending on the frequency of use, oiling the spoon every few weeks will help to retain the smooth finish and the look of the spoon. Simply rub mineral or olive oil all over with a soft cloth. Eventually the moisture levels in the wood will stabilise and so regular oiling won't be necessary.

- Avoid extended exposure to heat sources such as radiators, fires, direct sunlight or air conditioning units as this will rapidly remove moisture from the wood and may cause it to crack or split.
